frequently asked questions

What does Redfish do?

Redfish represents, advises, and supports real estate investors, business owners, developers, and other firms involved in the acquisition of and investment in real estate.

Do you list properties for sale?

No. Redfish focuses exclusively on representing buyers and tenants without the conflicts that arise from listing real estate for sale or trying to advise both sides in a transaction.

Do you work with sellers?

While we do not list properties or market properties for-sale we do advise clients as they consider disposing of real estate including providing analytical support and assisting with broker selection. We also appreciate the opportunity to know of an owner’s desire to sell so that we may present these opportunities to our buyer clients.

What types of assignments will you conisder?

Redfish represents investors who are acquiring investment real estate. We do this by serving as the buy-side advisor. In the normal course of our practice we also work with our clients to address the capitalization of their investments--both debt and equity. Redfish also provides consulting and advisory services to our client base in the areas of pro forma development, financial modeling, investment analysis, and due diligence (to learn more visit what we deliver).

What is your focus?

We specialize in investment real estate which encompasses owner-occupied commercial real estate, office, retail, industrial, multifamily, student housing, hospitality, medical office, and developable land.

Why does someone need "outside" help when investing in commercial real estate?

We have learned from our own experience that unbiased advice is valuable; we believe it is wise to seek counsel. We work hard to deliver unbiased counsel to our clients in their real estate investment and development activities.

Why the emphasis on strategy?

We believe that whether you are purchasing or developing commercial real estate a well-thought-out strategy will produce the best results. Redfish collaborates with our clients to create and deliver investment strategies providing unbiased and experienced counsel.

How is Redfish compensated?

Each assignment is unique and our compensation structure is customized to our role. However, in our role as a buyer's representative (a buy-side engagement) we typically share in the brokerage fee paid by the seller. Consulting assignments are typically negotiated fees and retainers.
